SAD NEWS
It is with great sadness and disbelief that I announce the death on Thursday of Dai Jones.
I was in the club on Thursday morning where Barbara Nelmes told me that Dai was very ill and not expected to live. I couldn’t believe it! That afternoon, Paul Nelmes ‘phoned to say that Dai had died that afternoon.
Dai was a lovely man. I’ve never heard a bad word spoken about him. He was a really good bowler both indoors and out. He was a member at both MidGlos and Barnwood clubs.
At MidGlos, he ran the Tri Nation team and was a member of Crackers and was the unofficial photographer at both MidGlos and Barnwood (it was difficult to get hold of a photo since he was always the other side of the camera). Mary Cresswell spoke fondly of him playing in a band with her former husband.
There is no doubt that he leaves a huge hole in many hearts not least his wife’s Sue and family. Our very heart-felt love and condolences, Sue.
