Newsletter Issue 93

Hello folks,

Not much to report this week. I hadn’t even realised that this week-end is a bank holiday week-end! That’s one of the beauties of retirement – every day’s a holiday! I wish!

A reminder about Whist – it will continue throughout the summer with the next one being this Friday, 6th May. The quizzes too continue all year with the next one being 21st May.

We’re away next week-end so there probably won’t be a newsletter next week unless there’s anything urgent to report.

Work starts on the rink lights on 18th May. We’re anticipating that it will take two or three sessions (personally I think that’s a little ambitious but I know nothing about these things) to complete the job. If you are fit and feel able to help, I’m sure it would be much appreciated. Just let reception know and your details will be passed to Graham Whiting. Noddy Holder will be directing the operation so it will be a case of assisting him where needed.

We’ve already had some generous donations towards the cost. Many thanks. The more, the merrier. As the saying goes, “every little helps”.

If you’re planning on entering the National EIBA competitions this winter, it is nearing the cut-off date for putting in your entry forms and fees. Just hand them in at reception and they will be forwarded to Max Butler.

I think that’s about it for this week. Don’t go looking at tractor images on your ‘phone – it could land you in a whole lot of trouble! Quite how you can be looking for tractors and end up on a porn site is hard to imagine but these things happen (allegedly)!

Take care,

Have a good week,

Linda.
