Hello,
The EIBA have just issued new guidance to reflect the government plan B.
It is now mandatory to wear a mask when entering the club and at all times until you leave – with the exceptions of when you are playing or seated having a drink or eating. If you have an exemption then ideally wear your badge so it is clearly visible. These badges are available via the government web site.
Remember, you cannot challenge a badge wearer as to why they are wearing a badge.
I have been asked to publish the dates on which the club is closed over the festive season. We are closed on 24th December until reopening on 29th December 2021.
We are closed again on 31st December 2021 until reopening on 4th January 2022.
I have also been asked by the bowling committee to reiterate again that outdoor clothing and bowls bags must NOT be left rinkside. We have both a ladies and a gents changing room. Please use them.
Two of the rinks will be taken up this Friday morning (10th December) by the A and B Mason’s teams while the umbrella is taking place. If you are playing near those two rinks, please be aware of the importance of these two matches.
The ladies are in action again on Saturday morning at 10.00am in the Yetton – two teams at home and two away. Please support if you can.
There may not be a newsletter next week since Howard and I are away at Potters playing in Champion of Champions. This is carried over from our win in March last year just before the first lockdown.
Because we won again in October with two different people (a team of four) we have qualified for this time next year too. We will do our best of course but this time we are playing all winners so it’s by no means a “done deal”. The two final teams are invited back to play the final on the portable rink on the morning before the men’s final of World Bowls. We would SO love to experience that!
Unless the Covid rules are tightened up again, the Christmas quiz will still go ahead on 18th December (or we could call it a “cheese and wine business meeting “!!). If you’ve reserved a table, we’ll see you there.
In the meantime, take care and keep your fingers crossed for us.
Kind regards,
Take care,
Linda.
Linda Watkin-Jones.
