Hello,
Much as I love this beautiful weather, it means there’s no excuse for not doing the garden! We were rather naive when we agreed to buy our property. We didn’t realise quite how big the garden was and didn’t take account of our advancing years! It’s a lot of work and I don’t even like gardening! I’d far sooner be bowling.
Moving on…. more good news! Tom Evans was the Champion of the Open Singles Circuit in Daventry and picked up a rather large cheque (both in size and the amount). I won’t disclose the amount to protect him from being inundated with begging letters. Well done, Tom!
MidGlos was successful in both the recent friendlies against Gloucester Vice Presidents and the Devon Ladies. The latter was very close with a final score of 108/106. Very exciting! The ladies were very complimentary about the welcome they received, the organisation, the club catering and our “excellent carpet was a pleasure to play on”. Praise indeed. A pat on the back for MidGlos.
Another very well attended quiz took place last night hosted by Steve Bluck with lots of helpers (too many to mention but without whom the evening would not have run so smoothly). The next one is on Saturday, 19th April which is Easter Saturday and will be hosted by Fred Croxton and Harold Grouse.
Nobody can say they’ve missed the AGM board by the chiller cabinets! There are still spaces to be filled on the directors’ sheet, the men’s sheet and the volunteers’ sheet in particular. Please think carefully about whether you could take on any of the roles. We need more names up!
Today some of our members took part against a disabled team from different areas of the country. When I left at half-time, the disabled team was ahead.

The last friendly of the season takes place next Sunday, 23rd at home at 2.00 p.m. against Malvern. Many thanks go to John Doody for booking the friendlies, Ken Spencer and Cath Black for working out the teams and organising on the day and, of course to those who have supported these games by signing up and playing.
That’s it for this week.
Until next time, take care.
Linda.
