Hope you all remembered to turn your clocks back an hour last night. Not sure the weather has realised it’s autumn/winter now. It’s glorious today. Long may it last.
On Wednesday afternoon, MidGlos was playing GCIBA. Officially, we lost by one but apparently the score wasn’t quite so close. Never mind, that’s only one match. The next friendly is against Gloucester IBC at home on Saturday, 9th November.
Yesterday (Saturday) our Wessex A and B teams were playing each other. The scores were very close in the first half but the A team pulled away in the second half to win convincingly. Some great woods played by both sides. Well done.
Today, Top Club was meant to be played at home against Oxford City and County but the latter pulled out so giving us a walkover. We now go on to play either Malvern or Bromsgrove dependent on their match today on Sunday, 10th November at home.
On Saturday 2nd, the Yetton is being played between MidGlos ladies and Malvern – two rinks at home and two rinks away. The following day, it’s the Egham against Malvern – two rinks at home and two away.
I have been asked to draw your attention to a notice on the notice board near reception asking for donations for a dogs’ charity in Gloucester.
A reminder that the Potters mobile shop will be at the club again on Sunday, 1st December. If you’re thinking of anything bowling related for Christmas presents, hang on until then. Those players from Bristol coming to play in the friendly in the afternoon might want to come earlier to take advantage of the shop. Jack is here until 3.00p.m. only since he has a long journey back to Norfolk.
CALLING ALL CRAFTERS!
On Saturday, 7th December, a craft fair is being held in the Cooper Suite. We will have a table. All proceeds are to go to the club as well as the money taken for teas, coffees and cakes. It will be a busy morning since both the Yetton and Denny are being played.
If you enjoy making things of any sort and would be happy to donate the money taken to the club, then please get busy. We can store your items at the club. Please drop them off at reception.
Many thanks.
That’s all for now.
As always, take care.
Linda.
