Newsletter Issue 162

Hello again,

Just back from a day’s singing at The Three Counties Autumn Show. Very tiring but at least it was dry after all the horrendous weather forecasts in the week leading up to it.

I was asked by a member last week for the spare rink availability during the winter season. Here goes:

3.30p.m. – 7.00p.m. – 7rinks

7.00p.m. – 9.00p.m. – 2rinks

Please book your rink if you want to be guaranteed a space. If not, just turn up.

Please note roll-ups from 4.00p.m. – 7.00p.m. are at the reduced rate of £1.00 per hour instead of £2.00.

Coaching in the winter will take place at the same time as in the summer – i.e. 10.00a.m. on Fridays. Again, please book.

It is the responsibility of team captains to collect the fees from their members and register the team at reception. As of close of business on Friday evening there were lots of teams still unregistered –

Monday afternoon –   2 teams

Monday evening –       5 teams

Tuesday morning –     4 teams

Tuesday afternoon – 1 team

Tuesday evening –      1 team

Wednesday morning – 3 teams

Thursday morning – 2 teams

Thursday evening –    9 teams

Friday afternoon –      5 teams

May I remind you that teams should be registered before they play. If captains find it hard to get in to pay, you can pay the fees over the phone by card. You would have to provide a list of the names of the team members at the time. Please make every effort to settle before the end of the month. Thank you.

Our friendly matches begin again in October. Please check the noticeboard opposite the ladies’ loos for all the information. The first one is against Dowty at home.

Now that the new season is with us, you need to check all the noticeboards regularly. Things are happening all the time.

As usual, take care. I really should heed my own advice – I am currently suffering with a cracked/bruised rib – very painful!

Linda
