February already! And it’s lovely to see the days lengthening, snowdrops in bloom, daffodils shooting through and the gardens generally waking up.
The downside is that, now that we are able to get into the garden, we can see all the jobs which we should have done before winter closed in. The parts which I’ve tackled so far look a whole lot better but it shows just how much more there is to be done!
There’s another busy week-end coming up.
It is the start of the men’s and ladies’ Interclub matches on Saturday. The men are playing at 10.00 while the ladies are competing at 13.00. As always, supporters are most welcome. There is the added attraction of bacon rolls!
On Sunday morning starting at 10.00, MidGlos B are playing Cotswold A in the Wessex and, in the afternoon, starting at 14.00, there is a friendly match between Berkshire men and MidGlos. Good luck to all taking part but, above all, enjoy the game.
If that wasn’t enough we also have Mike Prosser playing in the Champion of Champions National Finals at the Dolphin Club at the weekend. All the very best Mike, we’ll be cheering for you.
I’m delighted to report that Margaret Cadle’s “little white bag” has been safely returned and that the plumbing job is in hand (or pipe, rather).
Graham Whiting has another plea, please. Do we have anyone with carpentry skills in the club or is there anyone who could recommend a local carpenter?
We are looking to change the doors between the foyer and reception with wooden framed doors in order to do away with the existing doors which rely on a sensor which keeps failing.
You may be surprised to learn that we have in fact managed to gain access to the full Sue Gray report prior to its public release.
And here it is:
Take care,
Linda.
