Hello again,
If you’ve been into the club today, you will have seen that the notices about mask-wearing have changed.
As from today, masks are no longer mandatory.
It’s time to learn to live with this virus which is here to stay in one form or other just like influenza. However, as we make our own risk assessments of various situations every day, this is no different.
If you are still happier to wear a mask, please do so, as it is your own personal choice. The sanitisers are still around for your use as are two jacks. I stress that it is your personal choice … until the guidance changes again!
I’m pleased to announce that Burns Night was a success. Well done to Lin Brighty who put this event together along with help from a number of people. Personally, I don’t want to peel another potato for a while and I’m sure Sandra Kerr and Lin feel the same about swedes, Kath about leeks and Jim Brighty about red onions!
Antonella did a sterling job cooking the soup and haggis with neeps and tatties especially since she’s Italian and unfamiliar with the dish. Lin made a delicious cranachan while Jill Whiting made the crumble. All in all the feedback was really positive.
The speakers also did an excellent job, raising giggles in the right places. If you’ve never heard the band “B Flats”, you’re definitely missing out. They played a variety of music which appealed to the majority of the folks present. A really good night!
Here’s a flavour of the evening:
If you’re struggling to find dates on which to play the club competitions, Sandy has arranged for the club to be open on Sunday 30th January 10.00am. until 6.00pm. specifically for this purpose. Book rinks in the normal way through reception.
I’ve been asked by our Buildings Director, Graham Whiting to ask if there are any volunteers with plumbing experience to please contact him either directly or via reception.
Lost and found.
On Friday morning, 21st January, Margaret Cadle was playing in the Mason’s on rink 2. Her white plastic small bag was on one of the ends of that rink and has disappeared. Inside was her green measure with her name on it. There was also a purple Wimbledon towel inside as well as wedges.
Please search your bag in case you popped it in by mistake. If you find it, please hand it in at reception.
The following mask was found in the car park. It appears to be an industrial type of mask and probably used by someone for their job. If you’ve mislaid it, it is at reception where it can be picked up.
I hope that these two items will be returned to their owners.
Take care,
Linda.

I found Margaret’s bag on Friday afternoon, I have it in my car. Will bring it next time I’m in the club.
I’m self isolating at the moment.

Thank you, Paul.
Margaret has told me that you’ve found it. She’s delighted. Hope you and Barbara are not ill.
Linda.
