Hello everybody,
Last week I flagged up that our men are playing Bristol in the Denny cup on Saturday morning starting at 10.00am and on Sunday, MidGlos A team is playing MidGlos B team in the Wessex. The added attraction of this Sunday game is that bacon baps will be available as long as stocks last!
There is a notice on the white board by reception reminding people to come along and support both events. These games are great to watch and you can learn a lot.
Do try to come along if possible. The team players really appreciate encouragement from the spectators. Unfortunately, I can’t make it on Saturday but I hope to be there on Sunday.
Since this Friday is the first one of the month, the Friday umbrella will have a different format. The jack will be cast but not centred: i.e. you will bowl to the jack wherever it stops – should be fun and a great exercise in bowling to a displaced jack. I believe that there will be fruitcake available afterwards too.
There is or will be a sheet up for those wishing to play in the friendly away at Welford on 20th November. If you’re available and interested in playing, please add your name. There is a possibility that this game may be cancelled so just keep an eye on the board.
You are probably aware that there’s a high incidence of people testing positive to Covid in this and other areas. Fortunately those contracting it do not appear to be suffering much more than a heavy cold/ flu-like symptoms.
Although we are not bringing in any restrictions at the moment, it is wise to take a cautious approach. Social distancing is still a good idea and all the sanitising facilities are still around so please use them. Check with your team members and those of the opposing team that they are happy with using just one jack. Always try to pick up the mat by the appropriately marked end. Try to remember to wipe the jack(s), pushers and mats before and after the game.
It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Don’t forget that we have our next quiz coming up on 13th November.
Hope to see many of you there.
Covid is still around. Take care,
Linda.

This is not a.comment on your letter but a convenient method of sending you a message.
It is regretted that Sheila and I find that it will not be possible to rejoin the club this year, as founder members we tell you this with some sorrow but at 92 and with many health problems it is as much as we can do to do our shopping a couple of times a week
We wish the club all success and wiĺl
forward a donation in due course
