Newsletter Issue 46

Hello,

It’s good to see so many of you taking advantage of the free bowling. Don’t get used to it – it won’t last for ever! Seriously, it’s lovely to see the club waking up again after its enforced hibernation.

Unfortunately, it’s not tropical in the club since the heating isn’t yet on and we’re having to keep an airflow blowing through to comply with the current restrictions.

However, I believe that the heating will be back on from 17th May should it be necessary. But don’t let that put you off, put on another layer and come and have a roll up.

Importantly, when you do come in to bowl please remember the simple Covid Rules of:

Wear a mask until you start playing

Keep a 2 metre distance

Use the wipes for the jacks and mats before and after playing

Use the sanitisers

While on the subject of restarting our belated summer season, there will be no registration fees payable since there will be no prizes at the end of the season.

Therefore, should any team be struggling for players, you’re free to play for another team should you be available and should that team be desperate.

This will not be the case when the winter season starts. Hopefully, we’ll be back to our normal rules by then.

I drew the numbers for Kath for the 200 Club today so you can either thank me or have a stern word.

1st prize of £50.00. David Hearle
2nd prize of £20.00. Terry Barham
3rd prize of £10.00. Sheila Kingswell
Snowball. £50.00. Joyce Bloor

Congratulations to you all.

We’re just over two weeks away from the rule of six coming back into play. It’s not perfect but it is a whole lot better than just roll ups in family pairs or bubbles.

Bring it on as they say.

Take care,
Linda.

Thank you Linda , for your updates re bowling again. I have left my bowls shoes in my locker…..I need them now for bowling outdoors…. would it be possible to pick them up sometime next week, if there is someone at the desk? And what time will MidGlos be open? Thank you. Doris

The club is open every morning except Wednesday, 9.30 until 1.00. On Thursday, it will be open from 6.00a.m. until 10.00p.m. since the club is being used as a polling station.

Yep, bring it on. We are in the twilight years lets not hang around. If we have another lockdown I’m off to play cricket .
