Hello everyone,
More sad news …
This morning, Ray Turner died. He had had problems with his heart for many years and was in hospital having undergone more surgery to fix his internal defibrillator. This was a success but sadly, he was too weak to fully recover.
Our heartfelt condolences go to Pam and his family. He was a very kind, gentle man with a dry sense of humour. He will be greatly missed at the club by the members and by those who served with him on the Board.
By now you all will have received the AGM voting papers or accessed them online. Just a reminder – you do not need to wait until 14th April to cast your votes. A number of members have already done so. Many thanks to them.
This morning we were visited by the Covid Compliance Officer from Tewkesbury Borough Council to check out the suitability of The Cooper Suite for use as a Polling Station for the local elections on 6 May.
We are able to fulfil all their requirements so it will go ahead. The downside is that the club has to be manned from 6am through to 10p.m.
If you feel you could spare any time during that period, we would be delighted to hear from you. Just an hour is all that we would ask.
Please offer your services to Kath with your availability (i.e. anytime between 9am and 1pm or between 3pm and 7pm). Those times
are examples only and we would only put you in for a one hour slot, unless you indicated otherwise.
You lucky outdoor bowlers will be getting excited about the prospect of hopefully a full season’s bowling. If your woods are at the club, you may collect them on a Monday or Thursday morning when Kath will be in.
When you arrive please let Kath know that you’re in and, since we are still under Covid restrictions, please sanitise your hands on arrival and wear a mask.
Thank you.
Enjoy your outdoor season.
Finally, don’t forget to alter your clocks this week-end. It really is beginning to feel like Spring is here.
Stay safe and well,
Linda
