Hello again,
We’re back from a great few days at Potters. The weather was lovely apart from Friday when we were leaving.
The two blobs in the sea are ladies in swimsuits, not even wetsuits!!! Obviously, we’d already been in earlier!
We came third overall in the round robin of four games, but got knocked out in the quarters. Unfortunately, due to one of the guests suffering a heart attack at breakfast, the final on Friday morning was cancelled out of respect.

Thankfully, we have since heard that he is expected to recover, thanks to the swift action of the first aiders at Potters. They worked on him tirelessly until the paramedics arrived and took over. Although the air ambulance was on standby, he was eventually blue-lighted to the hospital via road.
An urgent request from Kath.
Could someone volunteer to cover the Thursday evening slot on reception, please from 6.00p.m. until 8.00p.m.? Vince will take drinks orders by card afterwards and will close the club. So it’s just a case of taking the rink fees and cashing up. Please reply to reception.
A reminder that the crib evenings begin this Tuesday, 7th at 7.00 p.m. until 9.00 p.m. Further details are in the last newsletter.
The next of Amanda’s events is on Saturday, 18th October, when a table top sale will be held inside the club from 9.30 a.m. until 12.30 p.m. Again, full details are in last week’s newsletter.
And, on Sunday, 26th October 3.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. bingo will take place. Full details in the previous newsletter.
The next quiz, hosted by Amanda and David Hanks, is on Saturday, 18th October.
That covers all the social events for October. Please support where you can and keep checking the notice board by the reception for any further information. If you have any ideas which you think may be well-received, please speak to Amanda.
This Sunday, 12th October, the preliminary Top Club match against Banbury will take place at MidGlos at 10.00 a.m. This comprises:
- Men’s 2 Wood singles
- Ladies’ 2 Wood singles
- Mixed Pairs
- Mixed Trips
- Mixed Fours
The players in these competitions always welcome spectators. Please come along to support.
As usual, I hope I’ve covered everything.
Take care,
Linda.
