Newsletter Issue 244

Hello,

We had a lovely few days away where we managed to see a rare sight – the witch of Wookey Hole.

The mixed weather didn’t stop us from doing anything we’d planned and the converted barn we stayed in was beautiful.

We were back in time to be able to celebrate what was the forthcoming marriage of David and Amanda after bowling in the Friday evening umbrella.

Although not official guests, we were invited to go along to the wedding on Saturday morning and join them in a glass of Prosecco in the church afterwards. The whole event was absolutely lovely.

The following day, there was another service and gathering in the open air, followed by the reception with several of us from the club joining them for a drink and chat afterwards.

On Thursday, they are off for a well-earned, relaxing two-week cruise. Here’s to many healthy and happy years together.

As I hoped, Norman Hancock had indeed seen last week’s newsletter and was very touched that he’d been mentioned. He is on the road to recovery now after contracting pneumonia. Again, we wish him well.

Not much more news since I’ve not been at the club. I’m making up for it this week since I’m in every day. Great!

Take care everyone.

Linda.
