Hello again, Another gruelling week of tennis! Both singles finals were captivating. I don’t understand or follow football but I hope England does it. The result will be known by the time this newsletter hits you🤞. Frank Skelton has solved some of the new government’s problems: See you in Rwanda! We don’t hear much from our members who play outdoors in the summer but Emily Burke did extremely well to reach the area final of the National Champion of Champions where she had to play one of her mentors, Lindsay Collins. If she managed a win this time, well done … but if she hasn’t done it this time, age is on her side and she will do it soon, no doubt. Well done whatever, Emily! The newsletter is always here if our members achieve any accolades outside – I just need to be informed and it will be noted and celebrated. Our next quiz is this Saturday,20th July when your quizmaster will be Jill Whiting ably assisted by Graham. Unfortunately, as I’ve said before, the date clashes with the “i-sing” concert in aid of the charity, “Mind” at St. Michael’s & All Angels Church in Bishop’s Cleeve so Howard and I and Fred Croxton will not be able to attend. I’m sure the quiz will be as successful as usual and a great night will be had by all. This week it’s yet more decorating for me and, now the tennis is over, I have to hit the garden. Have a great week. Linda Linda Watkin-Jones. Director (PR & Marketing). |
