Hello everyone for the last time in 2022!

Hope you had a good Christmas. We had a lovely time spent with our younger daughter and family and now we have our older daughter and family with us.

We had a great time at Potters. We’ll have to wait until another time to get to the final stage (if ever!). We were knocked out in the last sixteen whereas Bev and Dave Forshaw reached the semi-finals with their two partners. Well done both!

The shows were excellent as usual and, although the Christmas show was a spectacle, that particular week is a very awkward time to go since it is so close to such a busy time of year.

Travelling on 23rd December from Norfolk is not to be recommended! We had a long journey home through driving rain for a fair portion of it. We just had time to unpack, change and have a drink of tea before we were back in the car and heading for the club!

Since the Christmas Friday evening umbrella had had to be postponed a week, some of the original attendees were unable to make it due to prior arrangements. However those who were there had a good time. Lots of folks were successful in the Christmas draw but Howard and I weren’t.

My apologies for forgetting that the morning games which were missed for the late Queen’s funeral are now to be played on 2nd January. If you haven’t heard from your captain, just check that you are still playing if you were due to play on 19th September.

The next round of The Denny Plate is being played at a neutral club (White Nights) between MidGlos and Bounds Green on 7th January.

The postponed Saturday Interclub from 17th December is now to be played on 14th January at 10.00a.m. with the finals on 21st January.

If I don’t see you before, I wish you a very happy and healthy New Year.

Take care,

Linda
