Hello,
As I announced last week, we had a board meeting on Thursday where week-end opening was discussed. Having correlated the information gained from the questionnaire returns, as it stands, the number of members prepared to commit to week-end bowling is low.
Let me clarify “week-end opening”. This would be in addition to the week-end days when we will already be open i.e. the friendlies, interclubs, competitions, etc. will still be going ahead. On those days, provided there are rinks available, the club will be open to our members. Booking is advised. We are also talking about additional week-end opening where possible.
As a trial, Kath Hofmann and Sheila Kingswell have very kindly offered to each give up a week-end in October in order for the club to be available to our members.
The club will be open from 10.00a.m. until 4.00p.m. on 1st & 2nd October and
8th & 9th October.
There will be posters at the club advertising these dates. Please give it a go. Organise a friendly game; come for a roll up or just come for a practice. I will confirm at a later date if the bar will be open too.
The teams looking for players are reduced to just two now:

HELP NEEDED!
There are two gaps left on the office volunteer rota on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 3.30pm to 6.00pm on alternate weeks. This is not an onerous shift. There is little to do so you can bring a book, a jigsaw, your knitting, a crossword or whatever to pass away the time.
Please, if you can spare two and a half hours every other week, contact the office.
The next quiz is on 17th September, just two days before the winter season begins on 19th (two weeks’ time). Don’t forget to pay your subscription before you play your first game.
You perhaps need to have another read of the newsletter now – there’s a lot of information to digest!
Take care,
Linda.
