Hello everyone,
First of all, many thanks to those of you who turned up to help with the clean-up at the club. In all, there were fifteen of us. I hope that you agree when you see it that there is a huge difference. The club outside now looks much more loved. With several pairs of hands (and one set of paws), the task was not too onerous and I think we all enjoyed ourselves – there was certainly a lot of laughter.
National Garden Scheme on Sunday 4th July at Midglos.
Pam has asked that the plant donations be brought to the club on Friday morning when she will be there to receive them. However, if you’d planned to bring them on Sunday, the club will be open from 12.00 on the day. Likewise, the cakes should be brought on Friday morning in containers marked with your name to ensure that they find their way back to the correct home. Again, if you’d rather bring them on the day, the club will be open from 12.00.
If you’ve offered your help on the day, I believe that there isn’t a rota but if we all turn up for 12.00 or as close to as possible, jobs will be allocated then. Let’s hope that the weather is kind to us and that the event is a success.
Sadly, we’ve just heard that Nancy Lee died peacefully in her sleep on 17th June. She was the first person we met when we called at the club to ask about membership before we moved here. She was on reception but she had been a keen and very capable bowler in her time. I believe that she was one of the founder members of the club and a good ambassador for the club. She will be sadly missed. Although she was no longer a member, she was still very interested in the goings-on at the club and still supported major bowling matches. Our condolences to her family and friends.
Don’t forget that, even if you’re not helping on 4th, you can still come along and enjoy a coffee or tea and cake. Hope to see you there.
Many thanks.
Take care,
Linda.
