BOARD STUFF
With your help we have been busy tidying up and de-cluttering plus redecorating the Cooper Suite. We hope you notice a difference and many thanks to the volunteers who have been working so hard to improve the club.
Urgent:
The need for more volunteers, especially for Reception, has now become critical. In particular, we may have to close the club on Thursday evenings because there is nobody to look after Reception. If you play on Thursday evenings, please consider offering to help when your team don’t require you. Full training will be given. Let Liz or the office know if you can help.
Please tell us what you think.
We have been trialling a new coffee bean in the new machine and would appreciate your opinion compared to the beans in the old machine.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU
This has proved to be a very popular feature. Please let me have your headshot photo with a bio and you will be in the newsletter. – Tony Letts
John Gallagher Black — Vice Captain

I’ve been playing bowls for 6 years and joined Mid Gloss Indoor Bowls Club in 2019. As Club Vice Captain and a volunteer on the maintenance and gardening team, I love the friendly atmosphere, great company, and the perfect mix of skill and calm the game brings. I enjoy both social and competitive matches, and I’m always happy to help new members find their feet on the green.
When I’m not on the green, you’ll find me playing pool and darts, or spending time with my two dogs — my Rottweiler Bruce and Chihuahua Dobby. I also enjoy spending time with my wife, Catherine Gallagher Black, who also plays bowls and is Club Captain.
PUNNY ENDING:

A friend of mine loses his cool when he’s arranging the clothes in his wardrobe. I think he needs help with hanger management.
IN CLOSING…
The next issue is out on Monday 26th October.
I’m always contactable at the email address below.
Bye for now, Tony Letts. chairman@midglos.co.uk
