Hello all,
The results of the MidGlos v Welford friendly last Sunday came in too late for last week’s newsletter, but we achieved another good win – 110/62. Today in the match against Co-op, the results were 126/73. Another good win against more lovely people, I’m told.
Bingo is not my thing, but I went along on Saturday afternoon to support the club and was both pleased and surprised by how well it was supported. I even won £5.00! There were a couple of lucky people who were well worth mugging in the car park, but happily that didn’t happen.
Thank you to Amanda, David and Mark for running it and to Anne Hesling and Greg Marsh for manning the bar and, of course, to everyone who turned up. The next session will be held on Saturday, 13th December, 3.00 – 5.00 p.m.
This Saturday, we are welcoming The Cherry Reds, when chicken and chips will be served. Let’s hope this is the first of many music and food evenings.
Don’t forget that tickets go on sale on 1st December for the event on 21st December of fun bowls and a two-course meal.
During our last quiz, the bar staff were asked if we sold regular-sized bottles of wine. It is a thought, so we are going to offer a white, red and maybe rose as a trial for the Christmas quiz and the fun bowls evening and see how it goes. Graham will be talking to our supplier over the next couple of weeks.
Also on 1st December, Mark Royle (Jack’n’Bowls) will be at the club from 10.00 a.m. until into the evening with a range of bowling-related products. Spread the word to anyone outside the club who is interested. You don’t have to be a member of our club.
The Christmas Raffle Table is now in its usual place by the Trophy cabinets. All donations are gratefully received, and the tickets can be bought at reception.

The U30s double rink took place this morning, as did Wessex A against Wessex B, but I don’t yet know the results of either.
