Newsletter Issue 265

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, we watched the home team of Trips play in the U30’s match against Carterton. There was some excellent bowling, and I’m pleased to report that both the home and away teams won. Well done, everyone.

Incidentally, at the same time, a ladies’ U25 singles match was taking place between Zoe from Oxford and our Emily Burke. It was a very close match going down to the very last wood of the final end of the tie-breaker when Emily came out the winner. Well done to both girls. It really could have gone either way.

In the afternoon, a friendly against GIBC was taking place. And we managed our first win of the season – MidGlos 109 / GIBC 86. At half-time, the result was a tie, so the sugar rush of tea and biscuits must have given our team the upper hand. Well done! Let’s hope we can put the losses behind us now.

The next friendly is away to Welford on Sunday, 16th November. At the time of writing, another 2 players are required to play positions 2 or 3.

There is also an extra friendly on Sunday, 23rd at 2.00 p.m. against the Co-op. Please note the change below to the bingo date!

Today, some of our youngsters are down at St. Neots in Cambridgeshire, competing in the next stage of the U18’s England trials. Fingers crossed for our guys.

This coming weekend will be busy.

On Saturday, the ladies are playing in the Yetton against Cotswold – two rinks at home and two away, while the men are playing in the Denny – two rinks at home and two away.

In the evening, it’s our monthly quiz when Steve Bluck will be our quizmaster. It’s a little different this month, but all will be revealed on the night.

On Sunday, it’s the second round of the Egham Trophy again against Cotswold – two mixed rinks at home and two away. Good luck to everyone taking part this weekend and thank you for supporting the club. As usual, spectators are more than welcome.

With the original dates for Bingo, there were a few clashes, so both the day and the dates have changed.

Please note that the next session will be on Saturday, 22nd November, followed by one on 13th December. Both sessions will start at 3.00 p.m. and end at 5.00 p.m.

Everyone really enjoyed it last time and was totally up for it being repeated.

The more people who attend, the more prize money is available to be won.

Please bring along a raffle prize.

Keep checking the Social board by the reception desk for all the dates and future happenings. Amanda is working very hard. Please try to support her. It’s all money for the club.

That’s all for now. Take care,

Linda.
