Hello,
Not many weeks now until the summer season ends and the busy winter season begins. To that end, the membership renewal packs are now ready and at reception. Please pick up yours as soon as you can. The fewer we have to post, the better. Monday, 29th September is the beginning of the new season.
Flyers advertising our forthcoming open weekend will soon be available too. An example of one is at reception. Please spread the word to as many people as possible. As Howard mentioned in his Chairman’s letter accompanying the renewal forms, we are trying, as is every bowling club, to build membership.

I believe that last night’s quiz, devised and presented by Les Howard, went down very well.
Our concert at Pershore Abbey went very well too, both the afternoon and evening performances received an encore – very satisfying which went a small way to ease the aching back and numb feet!
More importantly, we raised a significant amount for this year’s charity to raise awareness of prostate cancer. Many of the people in the audiences had been affected or are being affected by this disease be it sufferers, their families, their friends or neighbours. It’s good to think we helped in some small way.
For the last few years, Campbell McColl has organised and run the Wednesday evening interclub. We are recognising the hard work which Campbell put into this by dedicating a trophy in his memory. The winners of this competition will receive the “Campbell McColl Trophy”.
This competition will continue since Dave Wiggle has volunteered to take on the job. Many thanks, Dave.
Apart from the introduction of two sets of seven ends on both Monday mornings and evenings, Steve Bluck is simplifying the marking of the score cards.
In future, the team name on the score card (which will be in alphabetical order) will be the home team. We will still toss to see who begins but the home team will be on the left of the card – this should avoid the scores being entered on the wrong side🤞
Until next week, take care,
Linda.
