Rules

  • The Wednesday evening league is an “open” competition for outdoor clubs. Teams can consist of all ladies, all men or a mixture of both, players do not have to be members of Midglos but they do have to be members of the outdoor club they are playing for.
  • The league is a double rink event, four players each rink played over 14 ends, the combined number of shots scored on both rinks shall determine the winner. Two points will be awarded for each winning rink, one for a draw. Two more points will be awarded to the overall winner, one point in the event of a draw.
  • Before the game begins the “home” side should place their cards face down after having been filled in and the “away” side puts theirs on top, the away side then nominates the allocated rinks.
  • Before the start of the match the captain/manager shall toss a coin for choice of jack (first end), the winner having the choice of keeping or giving the jack away.
  • Each match will be straight off with no trial ends, the jack will be re-spotted in the event of a dead end.
  • Players must pay rink fees in cash before the game; cards will not be accepted at reception. Please make sure all your players know this well in advance. Envelopes for monies will be provided along with the scorecard, put the collective green fee in the envelope, make sure your club’s name and amount is printed clearly then hand it into the office. This procedure has been agreed with reception.
