Hello again,
A couple of days late but better late than never. We were away for a long week-end near Monmouth until Monday evening. We had a lovely time with stunning weather!
For obvious reasons, we missed the quiz but I believe it was very successful as usual. The next one will be on 17th June when your host will be Sheila Kingswell.
We also missed the draw for the 200 Club. The lucky winners were:
1st prize of £50.00 – Colin Bell
2nd prize of £20.00 – Dave Heather
3rd prize of £10.00 – Rachel Corish
Congratulations to the recipients.
The winner of the snowball was not present so it will roll over again meaning that, in June, it will be worth £200.00. Absolutely worth winning!! Don’t miss the draw – it could be you!
If you’ve visited the club recently, you will have seen a notice above the cigarette butt box that there are bluetits nesting. The eggs have now hatched! Eggciting!
There is now a sheet at reception asking for signatures of people willing to help out at the Open Day on 10th June. Please sign up if you can. As with everything at our club, we rely on volunteers!
The Cooper Suite has been booked on Tuesday, 4th July at 2.00p.m. for a talk on The Cotswold Perfumery in Bourton on the Water. The talk will last about three quarters of an hour and then you will be able to try out the perfumes but not purchase. The afternoon will be rounded off with a slice of homemade cake and tea or coffee all for just £5.00. Look out for a notice advertising the event and a sign up sheet. This is not just for the ladies – they do men’s aftershave too.
N.B. Bring your friends along too. We just need to know numbers so that we have sufficient cake!
I hope this event will be a success. We haven’t tried it before but, if it is well supported, the next one will be on pearls (which probably is just for the ladies).
There are a couple more possibles in the pipeline, too.
I think I’ve covered everything. Enjoy the lovely weather.
Take care,
Linda
